Obviously I've been sitting on a few questions and have yet to figure them out. I promise I'll slow down with the questions once I get them figured out : )
Questions
How much are you home/away from your pup? Mornings, evenings, weekends, all day?
Where does your pup stay when you are home/away from your pup? Crate, yard, closed-off area, ect.?
While at home, do you keep your dog tethered/leashed? Should I have her on the leash instead of letting her have free roam of the living area? I read here about privileges. Is that one? What are some others? Will an obedience instructor have answers to some of these questions?
Oh, and finally, Lilah is a girl, right? So why does she seem to jump up and hump my leg? I mean she jumps up often and grasps one of your thighs with her forelegs wrapped around it trying to hold us in place. And some of these times she definitely looks like she is humping, but maybe she is just struggling to stand on two legs. At least that is what I hope is going on. I don't know enough about it to be sure. Weird, I know. Any insight? She may do it when she is scared or uncertain too. On our walks, once she's tired or we begin to walk past a house (with 6 dogs in the back!) she starts doing it and I can't get her to stop, walk, or even run the rest of the way. I have to keep using the leash to pull her away from me, but, in that moment, that is all she is interested in. We don't ever carry her either, so I don't think she wants us to pick her up. I can get her to sit, but once I make another move to keep walking she starts jumping at me again.
If you've taken the time to read through my endless posts, thank you. And if you've taken even more time to respond, thank you, thank you, thank you : )
